What is the science behind the stick?<\/p><p>Firstly, it\u2019s important to understand that the adhesive, or \u2018glue\u2019, that gives the stickiness comes in many different forms. An high tack tape will stick fast for temporary applications, whilst a lower tack is usually combined with high bonding for long \u2013 permanent applications.<\/p><p><strong>With high tack, you will be able to stick and unstick your tape many times without aggressiveness<\/strong> &#8211; but always remember to clean properly the surfaces.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d752de5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d752de5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Adhesion \u2013 keeping your tape where you need it<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-11e32d5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"11e32d5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Tack alone will give you that instant bond, but won\u2019t keep your tape where you need it for long. <strong>If you want a longer and tougher bonding, you need adhesion.<\/strong><\/p><p>With a strong bond, it will require more pressure to remove the tape, which makes <strong>high adhesion tapes unsuitable for delicate surface applications.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1793a9b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1793a9b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Cohesion \u2013 giving you the right amount of hold<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0a0576c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0a0576c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Cohesion is the force that makes tape especially strong<\/strong>, tough and stable once adhered to the surface \u2013 something which comes in handy on larger jobs where you have spent a while preparing a large area especially when you need to combine the tape with drop sheets or masking paper. The cohesion will fight against the weight and the gravity force, keeping everything in place.<\/p><p>Importantly,\u00a0 <strong>a higher cohesion tape will also stay put longer in higher temperatures<\/strong>, which can make the molecular bond weaker.
